    1. 1Jay Gatsby's funeral was quite desolate, because many individuals believed that Gatsby, the king of extravagant parties, had a scandalous relationship concerning Wilson and Myrtle. They also believed that he was ultimately responsible for Myrtle's death. The only people to attend Gatsby's funeral was Nick, Owl Eyes, a few servants, and Gatsby's father Henry C. Gatz.
      2. Henry C. Gatz was Gatsby's father, that travel all the way from Minnesota in order to attend his son's funeral. Mr. Gatz, during the isolated funeral, showed Nick a book that was part of Gatsby's young life, a book in which he sought self improvement.
      3. Nick grows wearisome for his foreboding life on the East coast and decides to move back to the Mid-West. He also breaks his relationship with Jordan Baker, who was engaged to another man.
      4. Just before Nick traveled to his home in the Mid-West, he ran into Tom Buchanan on Fifth Avenue. There he meets Tom Buchanan who claims that Jay Gatsby deserved to die in cold blood. After that encounter, he realized that Daisy and Tom are caustic individuals that will always use their money to shield themselves. They will never be responsible for their own actions, and that makes them detestable.
